No separate app to learn, no account to make. 40,000+ users on the Chrome Web Store, rated 4.7/5. This is an official-information entry: we have not run a 40,000-user extension in our own sidebar for a month, so there is no score.

Why four sidebars instead of four tabs

Every major assistant keeps a chat list with no structure at all. AI Toolbox’s pitch is that the missing layer is the same everywhere, so it ships it once as a module system: the ChatGPT module gets complete 30+ feature coverage, while Gemini, Claude, and Grok share a common base — full-text search, nested folders in a dedicated panel, the full prompt library, prompt chains, Smart Tags, context mentions, the context-window meter, bookmarks, and single/bulk export in TXT, Markdown, JSON, PDF, and ZIP. Each adds one thing of its own: Claude gets an Artifact Vault for every artifact it generates; Gemini gets role and date search filters plus automatic AI-image watermark removal; Grok runs on both x.com and grok.com sharing one library and one paid status.

The interesting number for most people is not the lifetime price, it is that the free plan never expires. Two folders and five search results per query is real, not a demo — enough to organize the chats you actually return to, and the free plan is the only one in this category with message-content search at $0.

Where to stay honest

  • The $99 Lifetime is ChatGPT only. No Gemini, Claude, or Grok, and no future platforms. The $199 bundle is the one that holds everything together.
  • “Pays back in under 10 months” is the vendor’s math, not an independent figure. It holds only if you’d have paid $9.99 every month for that whole period.
  • The $59/yr option is not on the marketing cards — it appears only in the comparison table. It is cheaper than $9.99 × 12, but nobody surfaces it up front.
  • Feature parity is asymmetric on purpose. ChatGPT is the complete implementation; the other three share a common base plus one differentiator each.
  • “40,000+ users” is the Chrome Web Store’s own count, not a paid-subscriber count. The review wall is the same listing under its former name, ChatGPT Toolbox.
  • Local-first does not mean zero network. Fetching a title and image for a copied link does touch the network (disable-able); one-time URLs like sign-in or password-reset links are never fetched.

Who it’s for

  • Anyone who runs more than one AI assistant and has a chat history they cannot find their way through
  • Creators who want the draft they iterated on last week back as a Markdown or PDF file without copying it by hand
  • Prompt-heavy users: the prompt library, saved prompts with {{variables}}, and chains that run prompts one after another
  • Not for: mobile-only users (this is a browser extension), or anyone who wants it on Apple Safari — Chromium only
